You see, life in itself is a very big gift. A gift that contains many little gifts. While you can search for that one perfect gift inside this box, we know we will never find one. Cos’ we change with time too. Expectation may end up in disappointment. Contentment breeds happiness. Passion drives reality.
Yes, the best lesson of life is taught through love and many heartbreaks. And at times when you think you are lost, you will be surprised that there is always someone at the corner for you. And for that one moment, forget those destinations you had in your head. Let your heart be your best compass. All you need is just one good journey.

I truly enjoyed the surprise guests and I will never be able to erase that memory of my mum sitting (or hiding) at the foot of my office block. My folks have been very very thoughtful. Every time we mentioned about meals, all 3 of them insisted that we go somewhere cheap. (Guess that I am "branded" as a host who spent a lot on awful food??) Meeting these 3 folks was a challenge… cos’ from time to time, they will be telling us to go home(using Elkan as the excuse!!) Of course, we know their good intentions inside. It is just that their acting sucks. And we know they do enjoy shopping, shopping and shopping.
My old ladies are not an easy bunch of lovies to handle. Amazingly, I have been nagged by them since 3 till now! And the naggy hit a new height when you have a combo of Auntie Amy, Zhu, Yi-poh and my own mum! I am smarter this time. I tried to keep under the radar and get Felicia to distract them. Haaaa…aa… Guess what? And when they aren’t nagging at me… they nagged amongst their own sister! Haaaa… now that is truly family entertainment ~ live! (Leon, you are evil, you should come to HK this week instead of last week!)
Really hate them for planning such a short trip. I could have cleared my awfully "a-lot-extra" annual leaves to accompany them. On the other hand, they did got a very very value-for-money package! It is a cheap and great package to fly to Hong Kong. And yes, Amy said this is her 5th and possible the last trip! I strongly differ that – cos’ there are a lot more nicer places here that you haven’t explored! Come back again.. this time, I have my ear-plugs and Leon. Haaaa.. Just kidding. You know how much we love you folks!
Yes. We are happy to have you folks here. Do stay longer the next time.

This weekend, we decided to continue our weekend tradition – island hopping! Except this weekend, we sailed over to Zhuhai, China (not really an island).
Zhuhai is well-known and loved for many many reasons. Other than the really bad ferry ride, Felicia loves this place very much. Zhuhai has everything we need – from food to shopping to massage! (Of course, this is like Batam to Singapore…except it is a lot cleaner and cheaper!) Women love the shopping. Men love the sexy and exciting night life. Can’t really say much on the blog as my mother, mother-in-law, father and auntie are reading my threads! Ha ha..
With Elkan around, we are making this weekend vacation a very educational one. We brought him to see the Giant Fruit & Vegetable Farm. Also, it is a great place for me to test out my new lens and camera! And for Auntie Bay Bay, she can hug all her favourite vegetables and fruits! Check out those great photos! I bet my mother and auntie are looking at these photos drooling now! (So, here is another good reason to come back and visit us in 2009!) Too bad, I am not a big pumpkin fan. I will certainly be thrilled if they have giantic durian or banana.
As it was such a sunny and cooling Sat, we decided to do some outdoor sports! We ended up cycling around the "Wild Fox" Island. Guess what we did in between our cycling? Tracy and I stopped by an air-rifle game store to play! All thanks to our shooting days in Shanghai, I won 2 soft toys for Elkan and Tracy! Francis, those air gun investments finally paid off! I was the best air-rifle shooter yesterday! (With an amazing 85% accuracy!) So wife, can I buy 2 more air-guns at Mong Kok? Ha ha ha…
Zhuhai is just 1-hour ferry away and it is as fun and affordable like our most-missed Shanghai! Will certainly go back very soon! Maybe when Serene comes end of March!

In just 5 short days, I reunited with 20 old friends on Facebook. These are my secondary school friends from Dunman! And it is so amazing how one MSN on Monday connected so many souls! Vincent Chng (my primary and secondary pal) MSN me about attending Yonghui‘s wedding on 8th March. I was so so excited that I begged Vincent to give me any contact to link up with my lost pals – especially the old "Ermei" clan!
On the same day, Meijie sent me a image link (on Facebook) – it was my Sec 3 class photo! From that link, I traced back a library of "people tags" and found many old friends! Karen, Genieve, Baoxuan, Elaine, George and Wenhui! Wenhui is very very nice, she linked me up with the rest of her contacts! Within the next 48 hours, I have many more old Dunman mates (Ida, Mark, Christina, Ginny, Owen, Gerald etc) coming in! You can never guess the level of excitement inside me! I was so excited that I rushed home and updated my wife (also from Dunman) about them!
Many "small worlds" started to surface. One of the biggest surprise is Ida Ong (my old puppy love) is Francis Goh’s colleague in OgilvyOne. And Yonghui knows my most recent HK visitors – Sally and Jack! Oh my gosh! Isn’t Facebook damn powerful and useful! Haaa.. okay, for this very second (and never again), I am going to say once and for all- "FACEBOOK, I F**KING LOVE YOU!" (The search continue… it is going to be tough as I realised many of us are using English names instead of our old familiar names!)

So were these great artists and inventors- Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Picasso, Henry Ford, Albert Einstein and Newton. Not forgetting those great leaders and conquerers like The late Gandhi, Winston Churchill, Napoleon, Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar. Even the world’s number one most wanted criminal today – Osama Bin Laden – He too, unfortunately a leftie.
What about the ladies? Sure – and these are famous icons you know today. A-listed Hollywood icons like Nicole Kidman, Kim Basinger, Demi Moore, Marilyn Monroe, Oprah Winfrey, Drew Barrymore, Angelina Jolie and more! (And yes… Jay Leno and David Letterman are both favourite Talkshow lefties too!)
Here is an interesting article about Lefties: http://www.thenational.ae/article/20080728/FOREIGN/250776884/1014/

1ST-8TH HOUR – Friday morning – Disneyland! Francis, Echo and Grey not only brought us their warmth and joys – they brought in the "Shanghai Rain" to Hong Kong. On Friday, Felicia and Elkan joined them at Disneyland. The weather wasn’t that bad – judging from their photos here.
23RD – 24TH HOUR – Sat Morning – The gang came and visit us at our house! Francis is CERTAINLY the 1st (and possibly the LAST) visitor who requested to see my carpark! Instead of enjoying himself at my beautiful clubhouse, he went to the carpark and snapped photos of those expensive cars. Mmm.. his love for cars have reached a "dangerous stage". More than just a "second wife"!
25TH – 36TH HOUR – Sat Afternoon – Francis hasn’t been on a double-decker bus since schooling days back in Singapore! So, today, we decided to give him a "refreshing bus ride" to Stanley Market.
36TH – 42ND HOUR – Sat Night – We had dinner (where Gareth recommended) at Temple Street and later late-night shopping at Mong Kok! I was looking for my lens and he was looking for his "guns". Very poisonous hobby. (Gosh! We reached home at 1am!)
54TH – 68TH HOUR – Sun Afternoon – It is the trio’s last day in HK. Time passed so quickly. In less than 4 hours’ time, we will bid farewell to our buddies. Francis woke up very early today and strolled around Mong Kok (Haaa.. and he ""kena" spotchecked by the local policemen! Can’t help launghing, he shouldn’t be doing that – cos all the shops aren’t open that early! No wonder he is a suspect!) Of course, he was looking for his poison – car parts!
69TH – 72ND HOUR – Sun Evening – Another teary goodbye for Elkan… Despite his "last horrific Mike Tyson experience" with Grey, Grey starts to adore Elkan a lot. Throughout this trip, Grey "monkey see & monkey do" Elkan. Like his idol, Grey wants to possess Elkan like his very own toy. He was following Elkan, grabbing him around. Of course, Elkan "disliked" that compelling attention from Grey. When it was time to say goodbye, Grey wanted to drag Elkan with them into the departure gate. Once the trio were at the gate, Elkan broke down by his mother’s side – "I want to go with Grey Grey…I like him…and his Disney Luggage too."
Another beautiful weekend. I am such a lucky bastard, said Joanne. Oh yes, Happy Birthday Hovman – if you are reading this.
Suddenly, I start to miss Shanghai again.
