Tracy’s 31rthday

No, she didn’t do a birthday fear factor this year. I think she has done enough "daring acts" for the year. Here are Tracy’s contribution to the HK economy: 3 big birthday meals (2 lunches and 1 dinner). 1 table-top fireworks. 2 cakes + songs. 1 S.Titus watch from the weekend clan. 1 personalised "Tracy" necklace from Echo, Shanghai. 1 surprise phone greeting from Randy, Taipei. 8 bottles of Shu uemura facial products. 1 Tommy Hilfiger wallet. 1 free "Prince of Persia" Premier Ticket. 46 hours of real joy – with 26 awesome friends + 1 pink dolphin!

Voting Time!

2 days ago, one of my lovely blog fans registered me for the Singapore Blog Awards.  Strange, I have never thought of submitting my "life" to a competition – not especially to one that says "New Age Warfare 2010". For me, it is the perfect "recorder" of my life (since I am so absent-minded) and a perfect "news channel" for my family and friends back home. Sure, please vote for me cos’ I am sure my mum and fans will be so so happy! Guess what’s the prize? A trip to Hong Kong – sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Mmmmm… Nice try.

Mother’s Day Video

Randy has done us proud again (not as a media whore this time). And this time, he is making it big for a better cause at international level. His new company, Bettermen shot and produced these touching "Love Life" teasers – promoting awareness for the unfortunate. The media coverage for this is amazing! For someone like me who doesn’t watch a lot of local TV, I still managed to see them here in Hong Kong (on E! and Channel V).

Let’s hope this is more than just another "stars-buzzed" event and not another "NKF-scandal" in the making. Our love for life shouldn’t be as short-lived as our love for these idols. It should be forever embedded inside all of us. Love Life begins right where you are – and not just within the screens that you are watching. Most of the times, the people who need your help isn’t very far away – they may be someone you know in your family, or at work or even at school. While we spend so much effort to raise donation to help these sickly and poor, we should aim for a world without wars and medical bills. That would give us all a new meaning to freedom.

Simply BAY KIA-SI

(Photo Taken: Tracy doing it again, this time in South Africa – While we were having our fun in Shanghai, Tracy was doing the impossible in South Africa! After leaping off at the World’s Bungee Tower in Macau in June 2009, she did another "Bay Kia-Si" act at the World’s Highest Bungee Bridge last week! Check out the DVD that freaked me and Felicia out a while ago! Okay, stop jumping…I won’t talk about raising your rental or forcing you to eat meat now.)

Greetings from Home

One of the best marvels of technology is how it is able to connect hearts across oceans and lands. Video conferencing is so common and affordable now that it has become a basic way of life. Friends hugging friends online… and children waving at each other through wireless connection. Of course, it can never replace the real thing. Afterall, it is only a 2-sense (sound and sight) experience. (But again, we don’t taste our friends, do we?)

Just a while ago, I had our little "wahbiang gathering online" with some of my favourite wondergirls – Juliana, Kalinda and Tracy. Not forgetting Zach and Daddy Duuk. Chatting over the screen does has its advantages – At least, I can "verbally abuse" Queen Juliana without the fear of being "hit" by her. (Yes, I called her fat and I am still alive!) And I can see the new Dark & Sexy Kalinda up close and "personal" (intimately) without her feeling "disgusted". And for Tracy, she should be feeling damn lucky – cos’ she is spared today from Elkan’s gongfu kicks and punches. The best of all… you can get 3 girls hugging closely to fit into the 4:3 screen for a photo shoot! Now, that is tact-noorgy.

Ye Shanghai is Here!

After so many weeks of waiting, Lady Echo is finally here with us! And she sure brought us lots of joys and luck! For 10 days till the eve of CNY, she will be part of the Chua’s extended family in Hong Kong. We just can’t wait to show her around! (No surprise, our first dinner was at the Singapore Restaurant at City Garden Hotel)

Straight from my Japan trip – Tracy, Echo, Harshad and me made a day trip to Macau. It was Echo’s first visit to Macau and we were showing her around. We spent 5 hours visiting the major casinos and theme parks. (There is a new casino Oceanus that looks just like the WaterCube of Beijing). Echo is sure one big lucky charm. Her presence "blessed" our night with big winnings! Together, Tracy and I won about HKD10K in our 1st hour (our base was only HKD200!). Of course, we got so excited about our winning that we forgot the one golden rule of gambling -"WIN & LEAVE". We stayed for another 4 hours – the longer we played, the more we lost. In the end, we took home only half of our original winning.

Our 84th-85th HK Visitor – Wendy and Leonard!

It has been 5 long years since we last met. Surely, Wendy and I went through many roller-coaster rides. Not sure why? I guess this is how fate planned how our paths. We have survived many road-blocks and also many many detours. We have been in and out of friendship for all kinds of misunderstandings. And certainly, Wendy is a very very unique friend of mine and it is very strange and difficult to describe our friendship. Time is often the best remedy. It can heal the most difficult memories and also create many more moment of possibilities.Over the last 2 years, Wendy has initiated a couple of meetings to meet up with me in Shanghai. But timing was never ideal for both of us. (However, I bet we spent many hours looking at each other’s webpages – We do have one thing in common – it is our love for photography! And Wendy is such a good photographer.)

Finally, we get to meet each other in Hong Kong this week. And she came to us with a very blissful piece of news – that is her 2011 wedding to Leonard! (Congrats, my friend!) Despite my super-hectic schedule (yes, it was another insane over-midnight and weekends working marathon), I am so happy that we managed to meet up twice. Thanks to our friendly and very understanding visitors, they came by our office at Central and waited for us. On their last night in Hong Kong, we brought them to the Peak for dinner. And when they left, we kinda miss their presence.

Happy Birthday, Bearbare!
