A Letter from the Police

Yesterday, Felicia’s mum received a "Letter of Advice" from our Singapore Police Force. Mmm.. what kind of advice leh? It seems that someone from their household made nuisance calls to 999. Of course, everyone living in the household is a suspect – that means you have Feli, Stella, Chups, Feli’s mum and Elkan. If you look at the timing, everyone should be at home (so, it is difficult to prove their innocence). Here are my prime suspects:

a) Chups – She is in her peak of puberty. I suspect she likes talking to man in "uniform". Come on, admit it!
b) Stella – She complains a lot. Maybe she decided to make an issue to the police.
c) Mum-in-law – She is forgetful. She may want to call out a mobile line but forgot that she has dialed 9 twice.
d) Felicia – She is forgetful too..thinking I have gone missing..and called the police. Dear, I didn’t come back with you to Singapore, remember?

Anyway, it is convenient to have a baby boy at home. So, all fingers pointed at his cute angelic face. Hey, it can’t be Elkan, if he is guilty, I am sure he be calling 999 more than 20 times in a row. Better check with his school, are they teaching young children how to make police call now???

I am thinking if Elkan is going to take the blame next month if Feli’s mum receives a bill of sexy chatlines.

Man, it must be "Baby Week"! 2 great baby news from the clan!

Guess what, MC and Ernie (above) are expecting their 1st "Manchunie" child! And we have the most productive couple "Garivy" (below) ! Ivy just delivered their 2nd 3.5kg boy "Isaac Tan Tze Sian" yesterday (9th Feb 2007). Congrats!

Hock’s 32nd Birthday

Our Mr Handsome IDA Hock celebrated his 32nd Birthday!

Duliana’s 4Cs

Wanna to write a blog on our SuperCouple "Duju" or "Duliana" back in Dec but I can’t lay my hands on their photos. I must say, they are the most celebrated couple in our clan. Winning "Couple of the Year" award and looking ever-so trendy, I would love to have a reality TV on them. Matchmade in internet, heart-warming proposal and achieving 4C (new Condo-style house, Car, Cat, Career!) in a month! Dun you just love them? (no pun).. Haa… let me list down their new Cs.

Condo, Car and Cat "Paris"

New Career
Duuk has found an excellent job after his army days and there are talks that Juliana may be posted up in Beijing/Shanghai early April (not confirm). It is going to be another exciting year for them and I am looking forward to hear from them this CNY. (Elkan too, he be getting his 1st Ang Bao from them!)

Couple’s Nicknames

It is getting really trendy about combining names of couple. In Hollywood, we have "Bennifer"  for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, "Bragelina" for you-know-who, "TomKat" for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. (Note one thing in common, the man’s name came before the woman’s).

So, here is a list of our own couple nicknames:

Salusia (Sam + Lusia)
Jolicia (Joe + Felicia)
Ramanne (Ramesh + Joanne)
Garivy (Gareth + Ivy)
Manchunie (Mann Chuan + Ernie)
Duliana or Duju (Duuk + Juliana)
Yilian (Yifu + Lilian)
Jimerene (Jimmy + Serence)
Macy (man + Tracy)
Liobu (Lionnel + any "bu")
Kalinda (any "kang" + Kalinda)

Any more that I miss out?

My New Room-mates

My new place is about 30 sqm bigger. I invited 8 new room-mates to share this space with me. 8 distinctive characters – and it is fun peeping into their lives. Can’t tell if they are "bu" or "kang" but they are sure exciting to watch. Oh yes, strictly no sex.

Moving House

My wife and me were moving house this weekend.
No, I am not talking about the same house. In some strange coincidence, Feli and I were moving different houses (she is renting out our Singapore apartment and I was renting a new Shanghai apartment). So, at one end, I was giving someone rent and on the other end, Feli is collecting rent. Miss my 2 homes… there are so many fond memories there.

EcoSphere – “Sea Monkey” for the Adult!

I always wanted a "Sea Monkey" but never have the chance to own one. Mum wasn’t too keen to let me grow these "alien non-appealing" creatures in some creepy acrylic tanks with fish-eye lens. She thought they looked like bacteria.

I also love to own an aquarium. Watching colourful fishes swimming gracefully in a big tropical tank can be so relaxing and mind-levitating. But taking care of one can be a hassle and too time-consuming. My dad gave up on me and flushed my pet guppies down the toilet bowl.
I discovered the "EcoSphere" when I visited the science centre 20 years ago. It was a perfect glass sphere with no openings – just seawater, sand, branches and shrimps. It was meant to be a perfect life-sustaining vessel. The shrimps will give off carbon dioxide (& fertilizer) to sustain the algae which in return provide food and oxygen for the shrimps. All you need is water and light – which maintain enough growth and keeping the water temperature constant thru out the year.

It was a super expensive "toy" back then. You see, it wasn’t the man-made eco-system which amazed me, I was pretty impressed that there are such aquariums designed and produced for lazy people like me.

During my trip to Taipei last Dec, I found these "EcoSphere" in SOGO – only this time, it is very affordable. I bought an egg-shaped glassware which contains some sea-branches and 5 tiny Hawaiian shrimps. (Yes, I have to hand-carry this to HK and then to Shanghai).

For the past 6 weeks, I just left them alone. There is no need to feed them or change water – the seawater is still 100% crystal clear! Like a snow-globe, it is fun just watching these tiny creatures swimming around the glass.

Yes, they aren’t as pretty as "Nemo" but they are sure better than those gimmicky sea monkeys. And they can last up to 8 years in that perfect condition.

My 22nd Girlfriend

Sadly, E6 left me for a nun in Singapore. It was hot and sexy. But I just couldn’t keep her for long.
I am now with my 22nd girlfriend. She was said to be the world 1st 3G Pocket PC. Yes, she is BIG.
Nope, she doesn’t capture my business cards like E6. She is my weather-girl.
